How to Download Mileage on a Volvo 850

    • 1). Get an "OBD1" cable with a "USB" end for models that are 1995 or older. Get an OBD2 if your car is a 1996 or 1997 model. Most automotive shops sell the cable.

    • 2). Put the software installation CD in the disc drive of your computer. Once the installation wizard loads onto the screen follow the prompts to completely install the software.

    • 3). Plug the OBD1 or OBD2 end of the cable into the connection port, located under the steering wheel. This port is roughly 2 inches wide and 1/2 inch tall.

    • 4). Connect the USB end of the cable into a USB port on your computer. Power on the station wagon and launch the installed software. The car's computer information will instantly transfer to your computer, including the current mileage data.
